Steps
Traka reads the step sensor built into your phone and shows your day at a glance. Distance and calories are worked out from your steps and fit you better if you add your height and weight (both optional), so read them as estimates.
Step tracker for Android
Traka counts your steps, times your walks and runs, and checks your pulse with the camera. Collect badges, keep your streak alive and see your progress build, day by day.

What it does
Simple tools that fit into your day, with nothing to set up and nothing in the way.
Traka reads the step sensor built into your phone and shows your day at a glance. Distance and calories are worked out from your steps and fit you better if you add your height and weight (both optional), so read them as estimates.
Start a session, choose walking, jogging or running, and Traka times it and counts every step. Pause or finish from the notification, and the timer keeps going with the screen off.
Cover the rear camera and flash with a fingertip and hold still for 15 seconds. The number is a rough estimate for general wellness and shouldn’t be used to make medical decisions.
A day-by-day log of steps, distance, calories and active time, with a weekly total and a count of how many days you’ve been active.
From First Steps and 5K Day to streaks and Century Club. Sessions earn the badges and keep your streak alive, and each badge you unlock moves your level up.
One optional notification a day, at a time you pick, and only on days you haven’t reached your goal. It’s off until you switch it on in Settings.
Privacy
No sign-in, no ads and no analytics. Traka asks for a permission only when a feature needs it, and you can say no to any that Android asks you about.
There’s no password and no email address to enter. A short setup asks for a username, a goal and a daily target, and all of it stays on your phone.
Your steps, sessions, readings and badges sit in a database on your phone, in storage other apps can’t read.
One step in Settings wipes everything from the phone straight away.

Help
Traka reads your phone’s step sensor. With “Count steps all day” on in Settings, it takes a quiet reading every half hour or so, and whenever you open the app. Steps taken in a session are counted live. Also check that motion access is allowed in your phone’s settings, and remember Android resets the step sensor after a restart, so the count can look low for a few minutes.
Cover both the camera lens and the flash fully with a fingertip and hold still for the whole 15 seconds. Pressing too hard spoils the reading, and bright light can interfere, so try again somewhere dimmer. The result is an estimate, not a medical measurement.
Traka keeps its data on the device and opts out of Android’s backup, so it can’t be restored onto a new phone. There’s nothing on a server to recover it from, and the new install starts from zero.
